Wine of the week: Amarone Valpolicello Classico DOC made by Tommaso Bussola in the Veneto. This seductive, hedonistic wine is almost impossible to beat. It is a rich, powerful, full bodied red scoring between 94 and 97 points on the top tasting. The grapes are Corvinia, Rondinella and Molinara and are semi dried for up to 3 months after the harvest. The wine is aged in oak for at least 2 years before release. Produced according to ancient tradition in an area where wines it is believed that vines were planted in the bronze age.
