Wonderful night of jazz with Joe Ruberto's Jazztet, featuring Rebecca Mendoza.Rebecca graciously filled in for Ruby Page who had a bad dose of the flu and was unable to perform. What a lovely night od jazz standards, played so well by Joe Ruberto on piano, Tony Mazziotta on bass, Lachlan Davidson on reeds, Dave Newdick on trumpet and flugelhorn, Dean Cooper on drums and the very talented singer, Rebecca Mendoza. These guys put on a brilliant performance and the audience loved it. There were dancers on the floor all night and it was nice to see Rebecca join them!

Update on Saturdays event - Ruby page is unable to be with us due to a bad dose of the Flu. Joe Ruberto has secured the services of the very talented Rebecca Mendoza to replace Ruby in the band. She is certain to give us a really great night. We hope Ruby is feeling well again soon!

Super fun at Clayton RSL with Oh Babe playing lots ofgreat swing! Led by Ben McKenna on vocals, with Bud Noodhoom on drums, Don Cameron on piano, James Shortland on bass, Scott Hurley on guitar, Brent Mills on saxophone, Peter Foley on trombone , Anthony Bull on trumpet and Nellie Noble, looking gorgeous, dressed in the era on vocals. The dance floor was crowded with happy dancers all afternoon, and those sitting listening looked happy. What a lively way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Thanks Oh Babe for great music and also to the wonderful staff at Clayton RSL who look after us so well!

A great night of jazz last night at Clayton RSL with Pippa Wilson and Jazz Notes. Such a lot of fantastic tune that kert the dance floor crowded and the listening audience happy. Led by Pippa Wilson, with delightful vocals with Todd Sidney on piano, Henry Francis on bass, Dean Cooper on drums, Kevin Blaze on guitar and Ann Craig on flute. These musicians are so talented and the music was outstanding.

Great night of delightful jazz with Eamon McNelis and friends at Clayton RSL last night. Eamon led the band on trumpet and vocals, with Sophia Macrae on reeds and vocals, John Scurry on guitar, Meg Davidson on bass and Dave Allardice on piano. Lovely music to dance to, and so nice to hear John Scurry on guitar. Sophia Macrae gave us some wonderful vocals. Meg Davidson was new to the VJC on bass and we hope to hear her again. Dave Allardice is always amazing on piano. We had a really good night, evidenced by the smiling faces around the room.

Great night of fabulous jazz last night at Clayton RSL with the Hot B Hines. What a super band! Led by Ken Collins on trumpet and vocals, with Bill Beasley on trombone and lovely smooth vocals, Barry Currie on reeds and vocals, David Hines on banjo ans fine vocals, John Huf on sousaphne and bass, and Wally Joosen on drums. These talented country boys played a great mix of jazz which kept dancers on the floor all night and happy faces around the room. Lots of fun and awesome music - thanks Hot B Hines
