Stefan Hauk kicking off the week once again with his regular Wednesday gig.

Thursday's blues jam will keep the ball rolling building momentum into another HUGE weekend!

Friday and the weekend kicking off with Joe Blake & The Snakes. Making their way down to the city from the swampy Murray Lands, these blokes get you moving and shaking and rolling and tumbling with their take on the blues!

Saturday night brings Badland Caravan, a psychedelic blues band formed in late 2021. They blend influences of 70s progressive and hard rock, 60s psychedelia, and 50s blues, while also incorporating elements of soul, funk, jazz, and Latin music.

M.J. Turner has been performing for over 25 years, performing around Australia and internationally, from Uluru to the Isle of Wight. He uses a range of instruments, loops, and storytelling to offer a captivating sound, featuring soulful guitar and earthy grooves covering a blend of genres, including blues, rock, and world music.

We gave the bartenders 48 hours of freedom and a brief reminder that the sun exists.

That’s enough of that.

The bourbons are back on the shelf, the kegs are fresh, the highballs are shining and we're ready to soundtrack another huge week underground.

The doors are opening, the lights are warming up and we’re ready to do it all over again.

A HUGE week of blues this week which we have been looking forward to for some time!
Kicking things off with Stefan Hauk on Wednesday bringing his usual midweek basement vibes.

Thursday's Blues Jam will be sure to be another great of jams. Last week was great fun with the Slim's Disciples at the head.

Friday is the latest installment of 'Slim's Disciples Presents', a monthly residency at Memphis Slim’s House of Blues on Friday nights where the night is built around a specific theme. Featuring a 5 piece blues band, a lot of ground is covered from Jimi Hendrix, to British Invasion, to USA Southern Rock. It’s a deep dive each month into an exciting, fresh, and cohesive take on various different colours and styles of the blues. This week the guys present 'British Invasion'.

Saturday is International Blues Music Day! We are celebrating with James Southwell Band, over from Canberra. James Southwell is a powerhouse performer who has been electrifying audiences across Australia and New Zealand for nearly two decades. Blending raw blues, funky grooves, and rock 'n' roll energy, James and his world-class band command the stage with unforgettable performances. With a career rooted in a deep love of blues and a fearless approach to pushing musical boundaries, James has become one of Australia's top blues and rock acts. This will not be a night to forget, with drinks specials thanks to Coopers and Buffalo Trace all night!

If for some reason you cannot make it Saturday, or you just want more of James Southwell (as we will), he is doing a stripped back solo gig Sunday for a Internation Blues Music Day - recovery set.

Kicking things off on Wednesday we have Stefan Hauk once again.

This weeks blues jam on Thursday will be run by Slims Disciples while Dusty Lee is still away. Headed by Lachie George, with a number of other Blues Jam regulars, Slim’s Disciples take all their favourite tunes from Dusty’s jams and bring them to the stage in a way of their own (along with some other classics).

Friday brings the return of Streaker, an energetic three piece band with an awesome variety of songs from old school to new school anthems!

Saturday we have a blues-rock triple header! The Danger Dolfins kickign things off at 9pm, before The Matehs jump up at 10pm. The Shadow Ministers closing out the night from 11pm with a night that will absolutely be rockin!

Closing out the week to the sounds of Tim Sheehan with Kerry Forward. Stripped back blues consisting of harmonica, guitar and vocals. The ideal way to finish the week of live music!

LIVE MUSIC IN THE BASEMENT THIS WEEK!!

Kicking off this week with Stefan Hauk again. Last week's return went off and this Wednesday promises to be another not to miss. Keep out of the cold rain in the warm basement AND Stefan Hauk tunes.

Thursday's blues jam will have another surprise host this week. Same old blues jam with a new exciting twist!

Friday brings Zkye Blue, a prominent deep rockin' blues band fronted by powerhouse vocalist Zkye Compson-Harris. The band is known for their high-energy live performances, featuring guitarist Nick Panousakis, bassist Damien Steele Scott, and drummer Andrew Bignell (or Toby Lang, depending on the lineup).

Saturday sees the awaited return of The Honey Badgers back to the basement. Playing mainly original music, with an aim to "make everyone feel good". Rooted in the blues with sprinkles of soul and funk, the 2024 winners of the Adelaide Roots and Blues Association 'Album of the Year' have a mission of putting smiles on faces and to get everyone grooving!

Closing out the week on Sunday with Beaux Jiggly. Beaux Jiggly ain’t Diddlin’ nobody. A blues duo/trio with deep, dance-ready grooves. Steve Gower brings the heat on guitar, percussion, harmonica, and vocals, while Izzy Kepes holds it down with driving bass and vocals. Who do you Love!?

After a late minute flight change last Wednesday leading to Stefan Hauk having one more week off, this week he is definitely back in the basement to kick off our week of live music!

Thursdays blues jam is in for another change up of hosts this week while Dusty is away! Not to be missed!

Friday brings the first basement gig for Jaded Earth, a four-peice original band bringing the electrifying presence and rawness of the late 60’s and 70’s with their own unique twist. Blending groovy rock with blues, psych and jam band elements, they deliver an unforgettable night of orginal music alongside classics from the greatest era of music.

Saturday sees the return of Sam Brittain & The Bloody Musos. Sam is known for his observational songwriting that blends roots music with elements of classic rock, with lyrics that are often inspired by his personal experiences and the lives of others. When he's in the basement with a full band, t's always a good party!

Closing out the week on Sunday with Cal Williams Jr. Cal is a multi-award-winning Australian blues singer, songwriter, and guitarist known for his intricate and powerful sound, blending early Delta Blues and British fingerstyle folk. His signature style features slide guitar and influences the likes of Mississippi John Hurt.

Wednesday starting out with a bang as Stefan Hauk returns to the basement after a few weeks away on tour! This will be a mid week gig not to be missed.

Thursday's blues jam is the first of a few that Dusty is away on tour for. So for the next few weeks each Thursday's jam will be run by a different musician who Dusty has specifically picked to head the night. Resulting in a same fun Thursday jam, with a sprinkle of the unknown excitement each week!

The weekend kicks off with Joe Amputch Blues Band. Joe Amputch is a Fiji-born roots and blues artist who’s early life was drenched in traditional island, blues, gospel and reggae music, creating a unique sense of groove and rhythm. This blended this with his love and passion for all musical styles, makes for an engaging and captivating listening experience.

Saturday sees the return of The Hawkins Band to the Memphis stage. The Hawkins Band with their fun mixture of Blues, Rhythm & Blues, and Soul tunes. Bringing a set full of their own original tunes along with the favourite covers.

Closing out the week with singer-songwriter Harpin' Will K. Performing a lively mix of original roots and blues. Influenced by the sounds of British and Chicago blues, 60’s and 70’s R&B, folk, rock as well as Latin, funk and world music. Recently he has been revisiting early influences to create a repertoire of raw ‘n’ gritty stripped back blues.
