There’s something special when new faces find their way into a room full of regulars.

This week, the basement shifts a little.

Bartenders from all over step into the basement. A crossover of scenes. A meeting point between the ones who’ve always been here and the ones just stepping in.

To the regulars , you already know the drill.
To the new faces, you’re in the right place.

Memphis has always belonged to the people in the room.

This week, the room gets a little bigger.

A message from Memphis...

THIS IS JUST A TRIAL!

Since our inception in 2021, we've been graced by the likes of all walks of music lovers and supporters of the scene. Thankfully, with that support we've been able to transition into live music every night we're open.

From the early days, some of our most consistent punters in the room were the original heads that have been making their way to live music in SA since long before we even knew what a DI box or Stratocaster was.

Blues, rock, roots and everything around it has been a staple of the Adelaide music scene far longer than we have been around not only as a venue, but as people. And the reason it continues to hold its place is due to those heads making the effort again and again and again.

Time goes on though, and the journey to town becomes a larger effort as father time comes knocking at the door. Nonetheless, the effort is maintained. We see you. We respect you. We rely on you.

Over the next coming months, Memphis will be trialling 3 priority tables for our supporters who require a seat to make it to the tail end of the gig. These are not general reserve tables, rather tables for people who genuinely require a seat for whatever their personal reason may be.

To begin with, we will trial the priority tables on a Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday so we can iron out any kinks and make sure the concept works. Simply shoot us an email to [email protected] letting us know what night you're coming in and roughly what time. We won't clear the table until you arrive, so make yourself present at the bar and let us prepare it for you. Alternatively, if you've spontaneously made your way down and are in need of a seat, present yourself to the bar and if there are available priority tables, we'll sort you out.

Live music in Adelaide doesn't exist without the generations before us carrying it through to now. It's quality is maintained with the unofficial passing of the torch to the up and coming kids. We see what you've done for the scene. We see that we are a place where you want to continue to enjoy it.

Never too old. Never too young. Never not your place. Memphis belongs to everyone.
