Tomorrow, the 2026 Standard Bank Challenge winners will be announced!

After blind judging, detailed panel discussion and a strong Top 20 field, ten wines will be named as this year’s . It is a significant moment for the producers, vineyard teams, cellar teams and communities behind these wines.

This Challenge continues to recognise Chenin Blanc at a high level, while reminding us that the variety’s success is built through farming decisions, cellar discipline and every person who is involved each season.

South African Chenin Blanc continues to hold an important place in international conversations about quality, heritage and value. The Standard Bank Chenin Blanc Top 10 Challenge helps give structure to that conversation by identifying wines that represent the strength of the category.

Only 5 days to go until the 2026 Standard Bank Chenin Blanc Top 10 Challenge winners are announced 🥂✨

The has already given us a strong view of this year’s judging field. Every wine was assessed blind by the panel, allowing quality, structure and varietal expression to lead the process.

For the winning producers, the recognition also carries impact beyond the award itself. Each Top 10 winner receives R25 000 to support economic and social benefits in the workplace and workforce, continuing the Challenge’s long-standing link between excellence in and meaningful industry contribution.

We have wrapped up a strong week of judging for the 2026 Standard Bank Chenin Blanc Top 10 Challenge.

Our thanks go to the judging panel for the expertise they brought to the tasting room, and to every producer who entered wines into this year’s Challenge. Each entry plays a role in showing the depth, ambition and continued progress of South African .

The results are now one step closer, and we cannot wait to share the wines that will form the 2026 .

Winners will be announced on 11 September 2026.
