VACANCY: EXPERIENCED COOK
Jock of the Bushveld is seeking a skilled, reliable and experienced Cook to join our team.
📍 Location: 19 Patricia Street, Kilner Park, Pretoria
📅 Start Date: Immediate
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as a Cook in a professional kitchen
- Valid references from previous employers
- Strong food preparation and cooking skills
- Ability to maintain consistent food quality and presentation
- Good knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food-safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be available to start immediately
- Must be willing and available to work day and night shifts
- Must be available to work weekends and public holidays
- South African citizen OR hold a valid work permit
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and cook food according to the menu and required standards
- Ensure all meals are prepared consistently and presented to a high standard
- Complete food preparation and kitchen duties before, during and after service
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen at all times
- Follow proper food-safety, storage and hygiene procedures
- Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages to management
- Assist with receiving, storing and rotating food supplies
- Minimise food wastage and maintain correct portion control
- Keep workstations, equipment and utensils clean and sanitised
- Work efficiently during busy service periods
- Assist with menu preparation and daily kitchen requirements
- Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
- Follow all operational procedures and reasonable instructions from management
Previous professional cooking experience is essential.
