💗 Meet Nova — an overlooked gem! 💗
Nova is one of those dogs who is so easy to overlook in her kennel. She can appear energetic and busy behind the kennel door, but get her out of the shelter and you meet a completely different dog—a sweet, affectionate, well-mannered girl who just wants to be with her person. 🥰
Nova is a petite 47-pound mixed breed female, estimated to be 2– 3 years old. She has beautiful coloring, a sweet face, and a personality to match.
She knows sit, paw, and shake, walks beautifully on leash, and has excellent recall. She regularly checks in with her handler and isn’t reactive to things she encounters outside the shelter.
She’s friendly and social with people, food-motivated without being pushy, and takes treats very gently and politely. With other dogs, Nova prefers slow introductions, but she has been friendly with the dogs she has met so far. 🐾
Nova also loves her humans! One volunteer sat down and Nova immediately plopped herself right onto her lap. When the petting stopped, Nova very politely nudged her arm with her head to request more. 😂
Nova is proof that you can’t always judge a dog by what you see through a kennel door. Once she’s out and away from the shelter, this energetic-looking girl reveals herself to be a sweet, affectionate companion.
She would make a wonderful family pet and deserves someone willing to look past the kennel presentation and discover the superstar underneath. 💗
