The late-night burger. Two dry-aged Roseda beef patties, smoked bacon, jalapeño relish, a thick slice of heirloom tomato, and bread made by our friends manifest_bread.

Shenandoah Valley lamb at Maison Bar à Vins. ✨

Pasture-raised on small family farms right here in Virginia, with the mild, earthy flavor that comes from grass-fed lamb. Served with a classic au poivre (lots of cognac and black pepper) and potatoes slowly confited, crisped, and finished with rosemary. 🌿

Ekato(Troupis Winery - Mantineia) is Greek for 100, which also happens to be the number of days Thodoris Koutsoumpos left pink-skinned Moschofilero grapes to macerate while he was away at university. He simply forgot about them.

What began as a happy accident in a tank destined for brandy became one of the most distinctive rosés around, pushing Moschofilero’s aromatic intensity and intricacy to its limits.

This week’s Midweek Cellar Pour at Maison, best enjoyed alongside our tomato salad with raspberry vinaigrette. 🍷🍅

Maison Bar à Vins has been named one of Bon Appétit’s Best New Restaurants of 2026, joining 18 restaurants from across the country. 🥂

And while we’re still taking that in, we can’t stop thinking about the words they chose for our little row house: “a maximalist gem that’s more than a great w**e bar.”

For a place that has always had a bit of fun calling itself just a w**e bar, that feels particularly special.

This recognition belongs to everyone who makes Maison what it is each night, our kitchen, cellar, dining room, and the entire Maison team, and to the thepopalgroup whose support, vision, and belief in this place have been there from the beginning.

Thank you to bonappetitmag and Kate Kassin for seeing Maison for exactly what we hoped it could be.
