🍷 Wine is at Rotator Taproom, and we're 21+ now.
To our Rotator family:
We've seen your comments, and we hear you. So many of you have been coming to Rotator for years — bringing your kids, making it part of your routine. That history means everything to us. We're parents too, and we know what it feels like to lose a place where your family feels at home.
Here's the honest truth: this wasn't a decision we made lightly. For years, your #1 request has been wine. To finally bring it to the bar, we had to upgrade our state liquor license — and California ABC rules tied to that license require us to be 21-and-over, with no exceptions. The only way around that would be to operate as a full bona fide eating establishment with a kitchen, which isn't the taproom experience we've built Rotator to be.
We also know a few newer taprooms have opened in Walnut Creek with spaces genuinely built for kids — something our corner of town, tucked in an auto-industrial stretch, was never really designed for. We think that's a great thing for families, and it's part of why we feel good leaning fully into what Rotator does best: being the local gathering spot for the 21+ crowd.
We're still the same Rotator — still proudly pouring the best independent California craft beer, now alongside a small, thoughtfully curated local wine list. Same people behind the bar. Same community we've always tried to build.
We know this is a hard change for some of you, and we don't take that lightly. Thank you for understanding, and thank you for being part of this place for so long.
