Let’s talk about something I think is really important when hiring a bartender: don’t just compare the price. Compare the service.
I completely understand wanting to stay within a budget. I do too! But when you’re comparing two quotes that look very different, it’s worth asking what’s actually included in each one.
For me, professionalism goes beyond making a good cocktail.
It’s having the proper certifications.
It’s carrying insurance.
It’s knowing how to responsibly serve alcohol.
It’s communicating clearly.
It’s preparing for the what ifs.
And it’s caring about the experience your guests are having.
Those things may not always be the most exciting part of planning an event, but they matter.
So if you’re shopping around for a bartender, ask questions! Ask what’s included, what credentials they hold, whether they’re insured, and what their service actually looks like.
