Just Announced! Mariachi y Mezcal is a celebration of tradition and exploration, blending beloved mariachi standards with music that reaches beyond the traditional repertoire. Mariachi Nuevo Azteca shares an experience shaped by heritage, creativity, and connection through song—an evening where time-honored classics meet bold new sounds, and every note is an invitation to listen, feel, and celebrate together.

"It’s summer in Tucson and everyone knows it’s hot but there is a side to summer that makes everyone happy: We get our city back. The students have gone home and the snowbirds are RV-ing their way north. That leaves us. Now what?
..After dinner take a walk down the street to Hotel Congress where an unobtrusive door opens to a longish, narrow room filled with world-class music. It’s The Century Room, a kind of throwback to times when we went to smoke-filled clubs, tossed back sophisticated cocktails and listened to hip jazz music. There’s no smoke anymore but there is still hip jazz and cocktails. This club actually specializes in mezcal so be ready. Also available are NA cocktails and soda.

Although there is a house band patrons will find lots of variety in the musicians who come nearly nightly. Most nights there is more than just one show. It pays to check the website, buy tickets early and then expect some great music."

Saturday night! Trumpeter, vocalist, and percussionist Pete Rodríguez makes his Century Room debut. Pete carries the bloodline of Nuyorican salsa as he takes his unique brand of jazz to exciting new places. Son of salsa singer Pete “El Conde” Rodríguez and godson of Fania Records bandleader Johnny Pacheco, Rodríguez cut his teeth playing with some of the greatest names in Latin music. As a bandleader, Rodríguez draws on his diverse upbringing—including living through the birth of Hip Hop in the Bronx and becoming an accomplished classical trumpeter as an adolescent in Puerto Rico—to create his own brand of jazz that defies categorization.”

Friday night we celebrate 100 years of Miles Davis, hosted by Grammy winner author and jazz historian Ashley Kahn! Featuring Jason Carder, Cameron Davidson and Morani Sanders on trumpet playing a historical retrospective of Miles’ career from his collaborations with Charlie Parker in the 1940s, classic quintets of the ‘50s and ‘60s, fusion explorations of the ‘70s and comeback in the 1980s. Only a few tickets remain!
