Just a reminder that the saloon is Closed June 11-14 so that we can prepare our kids' grad parties. We are thankful to have this time to focus on Waylon and Emery's accomplishments. We'll resume summer hours June 18.

Amidst the chaos of working through equipment failure last week I completely forgot to post the specials for the weekend.

Today's family style breakfast includes our scratch made pancakes with nectarine basil cream, rustic biscuits and jelly, our famous sautéed cabbage, seasoned fried breakfast potatoes, naturally cured bacon from JM Watkins, and eggs your way. Lunch specials will be available from noon till 4pm.

In the past 5 days we've been challenged with 4 malfunctioning units. Coolers are like trees talking to each other through their root system. When 1 goes down they all sympathetically join in. Thankfully, Dan the man is awfully handy and good at dealing with these issues. It's all fine now, and no, we don't need to borrow your garage fridge. We just need time to get our workspaces back in order so that we can cook and efficiently serve you come open time. See you soon!

We've joined our Friday menu with some of our popular specials and made a new fuller menu that is available most of the time. We will still offer Humble Moon classic burgers & grilled sandwiches once a month as a 'Grill Weekend' the 3rd weekend of the month. Swedish Meatballs the 4th weekend of each month.

Forrest & his lovely wife Margaret will once again grace the Humble Moon stage this Friday, May 29 at 7pm. You may recognize Forrest from the CBS competition 'The Road'. We're thankful that they've made plenty of friends around here and enjoy coming back to our tiny little river village.

We'll be running our full menu on Friday night along with Dan's special Smoked Prime Rib and a Shrimp Scampi Dinner. Menu posted tomorrow. Free-will donation of $5-10/adult is appreciated to go towards the cost of live entertainment.

Forrest McCurren is a road dog. You hear it in his songs. The grit. The gears. The unexpected turns that produce a favorite mantra: You got to get lost to get found. His delivery is a pearl-snap shirt on a Saturday night, a Prinelike glimpse into sticky life, sycamore sweet in the Texas heat, sparkling in the Ozarks sun where the sacred Osage flows into the Missouri River.
He raises a beer to trailer park lovers with matching tatoos and waitresses wise beyond their barstools. His ballads salute good people who got bad grades in school, drunk on dreams, still trying to figure out if life is sour or sweet. Then he drives off in a van that looks like it might be your plumber.
Every road is a road home for somebody. McCurren’s latest album, “Small Prayers, Big Blessings” captures both road and home. “There’s a rowdiness that comes from the road and then there’s a thoughtfulness when we’re off the road, getting back home and putting in context how much you love your family, wanting to be of service to them, wanting to slow down and be present, more present than when you're out traveling.”
Equally at home quoting Shakespeare and the Bible, McCurren’s pluck and dirt songwriting prompted Blake Shelton and Taylor Sheridan to stick him in the lineup to compete in the series, “The Road,” which premiered October 2025 on CBS. That’s a feather in his cap.
“You’re getting paid to see the world,” he reasons. “It’s not all sunshine. It does wear you down, this crazy lifestyle. But you know, you play music you don’t work music. It’s something that feels like a calling. There’s a lot easier ways to make grocery money. But it’s a great way to spend your days.”
