As we continue celebrating 25 years of SqWires, we thought we'd answer a question we hear quite a bit:

Where did the name SqWires come from?

The "Sq" comes from Lafayette Square, the historic neighborhood we've proudly called home since opening our doors.

The "Wires" comes from the Western Wire factory that once occupied this building. Long before brunches, patio dinners, and celebrations, this space was part of St. Louis' industrial history.

One of the things we've always loved about this building is how much of that history remains. The architecture, the character, and the stories are still here, woven into the experience of dining at SqWires today.

Over the coming months, we'll continue sharing pieces of our story as we count down to our 25th anniversary this October.

Throwing it back as we celebrate 25 years at SqWires.

Over the years our patio has had many looks and many stories. Before the awning, after the awning, brunch mornings, late-night dinners, celebrations, and even dog-friendly patio visits.

Some things change. Some things stay exactly the same: good food, good company, and a place to gather.

National BBQ Week feels like the perfect time to say this...

BBQ is BACK at SqWires every Thursday from 5-9 until Labor Day.

The first Thursday BBQ of the season fires up this week and summer favorites are making their return: grilled ribs, fresh strawberry lemonade, salmon, chicken, Impossible Burgers, house-made sides and more.

The patio, the smoke, the summer smells…it all starts here.
