We’re heading south for our next wine class 🍷🌎

Join us on Sunday, May 17, as we explore the wines of Latin America—and not just the usual suspects.

While South America has long been known for world-class wines, we’re especially excited to feature the wines of Mexico! 🇲🇽

We’ve been hearing for years about the incredible wines being produced there… and now they’ve finally made their way to Missouri!

In this class, we’ll taste through a curated lineup from Mexico, Argentina 🇦🇷, Chile 🇨🇱, and Uruguay 🇺🇾, highlighting both emerging regions and benchmark producers.

As always, we’ll taste through MANY wines 🍷 as we learn about these dynamic regions!

Cinco de Mayo plans, but make it easy 🍹🌮

We’re featuring:

🌮 James’s tacos (yes, those tacos—crispy, craveable, and with a serious following)
🍋‍🟩 House-made margaritas with fresh lime, additive-free tequila, and Cointreau—no mixes, no shortcuts
🍷 Two Baja California, Mexico wines by-the-glass from Dominio de las Abejas: a bright Trebbiano + a delightful Nebbiolo

May 6 is a special day around here—it marks James’s 13th anniversary of owning 33 Wine Shop & Bar 🍾

To celebrate, we’re hosting a Tour of France 🇫🇷 tasting featuring 8 wines from North Berkeley Imports, exploring some of France’s most classic regions—our own take on the Tour de France (just a little early). 🍷🚴

For more than 40 years, has worked directly with outstanding family growers across France’s most historic regions, and their commitment to quality has earned them Wine & Spirits “Importer of the Year” four times (2019, 2020, 2022, 2023).

Join us for a guided, seated tasting on Wed, May 6 (5:30–7:30 pm) as we explore wines from across France—from Crémant de Bourgogne to the Loire Valley, Beaujolais, and the Southern Rhône, including Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

Cheese & charcuterie 🧀 🥖 will be available, and all wines will be available for pre-sale purchase.

A Tour of France 🇫🇷🍷

Join us Wednesday, May 6 for a curated seated tasting of 8 wines from North Berkeley Imports, exploring some of France’s most classic regions—our own take on the Tour de France (just a little early).

This lineup moves across the country—from Crémant de Bourgogne to Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc, Cru Beaujolais, Southern Rhône, and more—ending with a side-by-side comparison including Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

Regional Manager Ken Sandbach will be on site to guide the tasting and share insight into these producers.

Cheese & charcuterie will be available, and all wines will be available for presale purchase.

Discover the wines of the Loire Valley 🇫🇷🍷

Join us on Sunday, April 26 from 3–5 pm for an in-depth exploration of one of France’s most diverse and expressive wine regions. Often called the “Garden of France,” the Loire Valley is home to everything from crisp, mineral-driven Muscadet to vibrant Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre and elegant Cabernet Franc from Chinon.

We’ll taste a curated lineup of sparkling, white, and red wines that showcase the region’s incredible range and sense of place—guided by owner and sommelier James Smallwood.

Doors open at 2:30 pm. Please arrive by 3:00 pm. Wines by the glass will be available after the class.

Many of you already know Big John—he’s been part of the Sheridan team since the beginning and a familiar face here at 33. This time, we’re slowing things down for a guided, seated tasting with a deeper look at the wines and the stories behind them.

Sheridan Vineyard (Yakima Valley, WA) is known for bold, structured, age-worthy estate wines, and we’re proud to have been the first to pour them in Missouri!

Enjoy a lineup of six estate wines paired with cheese & charcuterie and seared, marinated steak bites—because these wines were made for food.
