Why Does This Grinder Motor Jump Up and Down?
This grinder has a very fast jump start; however, this is accounted for from the very beginning. This grinder runs 10” tires instead of rigid wheels, and those tires grow and shrink as they spin up to 5,000 SFPM. The belt can’t change length, so the motor moves up and down to keep tension constant.
That makes perfect belt tracking, no over-tensioning, and fewer snapped sanding belts. The design also makes it easy to swap belts quickly.
