we’ll be CLOSED TODAY for a team outing ⛵️ this month marks our eighth year in business, and a LOT has changed since we opened our doors in 2018 (!!!!)—we opened and expanded Wild Child, started a very successful wine club that remains one of my favorite things, piloted dearanniebar with an experimental service model (and recently decided to make it even weirder), earned 3 James Beard Foundation nods, were featured in basically every publication a gal could dream of, helped celebrate engagements, PhD defenses, divorces, and being alive on a Tuesday. we’ve raised tens of thousands of dollars for our community far and wide, and DARE I SAY we’ve had a lot of fun along the way. also we drank a lot of very good wine in the process. also I had a baby :) we’ve said hello and goodbye to some of the best team members I’ve ever had the pleasure to work alongside and mentor, and it has never been more clear to me than it is right now that our team is what makes, breaks, elevates and sustains us. this is obvious in theory and easy to forget in the mess of the grind. I’m not often behind the bar these days (see above re: baby), so I’ve come to really appreciate team outing days as a moment with everyone that I don’t have to fill with the urgency of training or problem-solving or taxes or onboarding or trying to figure out why the f**k the WiFi is down again, etc.

ALL THIS TO SAY thanks for riding the ride with us, and thanks to our team for being absolute stunners—we’ve come a long way! let us eat lobster on a boat today 🦞
