Today, Mauve is CLOSED as we give our incredible team a well-deserved day off.

Our team works hard every week to make sure we’re always on our game; crafting consistent cocktails, preparing great food, creating new ideas, and making sure every person who walks through our doors receives the experience we want Mauve to be known for.

Could we be open today? Absolutely. But not every decision has to be about making another dollar.

Sometimes, it’s about showing respect and appreciation for the people who make your business what it is and giving them the opportunity to enjoy the holiday, spend time with family and friends, and simply have a day for themselves.

And really, that’s what Labor Day is about.

Labor Day was created to recognize and celebrate the contributions, achievements, and hard work of American workers. It’s a reminder that behind every business are people whose time, talent, dedication, and hard work keep it moving forward.

Mauve wouldn’t be Mauve without the people behind the bar, in the kitchen, and on the floor who show up and give it their best.

So today, the cocktails can wait…

Happy Labor Day to our Mauve team, our fellow hospitality workers, and everyone out there who works hard at what they do.

We love you Shorewood! But please don’t let your 7 year old child walk into a cocktail bar selling candy for a fundraiser.

She was asking tables what they’re drinking, asking what a martini is, and what is alcohol?

Poor girly got more information about liquor than she bargained for. We were about to bring her behind the bar and have her shake a martini herself! 🍸

Moral of the story, if you make your child go into a bar to sell candy, PLEASE make sure they know the recipe to a cosmopolitan ❤️
