🐻 NOT QUITE HIBERNATION SEASON!

The bear-deer suggested we take the winter off. We negotiated shorter hours instead.

Starting Tuesday, November 3, we're switching to our new fall schedule.

The b**r's still flowing, the pizza's still baking, and there's always room for another friend at the table.

⏰ DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME HAS ENDED. WE HAVE QUESTIONS.

At precisely 2 AM this morning, an hour was returned to us.

We appreciate the gesture.

However, we were under the impression that we’d been saving daylight for the better part of eight months.

Where is it?

Who has been keeping track of it?

Is there an account somewhere? Does it earn interest? Can we make a withdrawal?

Because we’d like some of that daylight back around 5:30 PM in December.

And while we’re at it, are we saving daylight or saving time?

If we’re saving time, why do we keep spending it?

And if we gained an hour this morning, who lost it?

We’ve been informed that the sun was not consulted about any of this, which seems like a significant oversight.

Clearly, these are matters that require further discussion.

We intend to mull them over with our friends throughout the space-time continuum.

Some are right here in New Mexico.

Some are in Arizona, where most of the state doesn’t bother changing its clocks twice a year.

Frankly, they’ve got a point. Although we’re no longer certain what that point is, or what time it would be there.

Then there’s Indiana.

Indiana spent decades trying to agree on what time it was, finally got everyone changing their clocks together in 2006, and still has two time zones.

There’s a lot to unpack there.

We considered calling Indiana for clarification, but we’re not entirely sure what time would be appropriate.

And some are doing whatever the name of Bill Murray’s character in Groundhog Day has been doing since the movie came out.

We suspect there are no easy answers.

Nevertheless, we invite you to join us for a b**r, a pizza, and a thoughtful discussion about the passage of time.

This seems like an entirely reasonable use of an hour that we apparently didn’t have yesterday.

This is all to say, we open at 11:30. 🍺

The costumes are ready. Or maybe they’re still being assembled on the kitchen table. Either way, we can’t wait to see what everybody comes up with!

🐻 WHAT KIND OF PLACE HAS A BEAR WITH ANTLERS ON THE WALL?

Ours does.

We're a little different out here on Highway 14. We've been here for nine years, and that bear is only part of the story.

Some of life's best moments happen around a table.

There may be a pizza in the middle of it, a couple of b**rs, maybe some music in the background. But it's the people who make things interesting.

Familiar faces. New acquaintances. Conversations that start with a simple hello and somehow last all afternoon.

You never really know who you'll meet or what stories you'll hear.

We're a brewery and a restaurant, but we're also a people place.

And we haven't met everyone in Santa Fe yet.

On Tuesday morning, we lost Dan Christofferson.

Dan was a member of our family here at B**r Creek Brewing Company and an anchor in our kitchen. He always had a ready smile for everyone, and if you knew Dan, you knew how much he loved his San Francisco 49ers.

We miss him greatly.

Our hearts are with Dan’s family, his friends and everyone who loved him. ❤️

🍗 WE REALLY DON'T KNOW IF YOU'RE GOING TO LIKE OUR WINGS.

Some people think they're amazing. One person gave them an 8.8 out of 10. Another thought they could be crispier.

We've examined the available evidence and reached absolutely no conclusions.

Evaluating chicken wings is a lot like gymnastics or diving. It's a subjective sport, except nobody has agreed on the scoring system, and the judges are largely self-appointed.

Therefore, we have established the following rules for evaluating B**r Creek chicken wings.

1. All opinions are considered valid, although some may be substantially more correct than others.

2. Judges may award points for crispiness, sauce distribution, tenderness, or reasons they are under no obligation to disclose.

3. Scores may be challenged, but only by people who have actually eaten the wings.

4. An 8.8 is a perfectly respectable score, although the whereabouts of the remaining 1.2 points remain under investigation.

5. B**r Creek reserves the right to agree with everyone while reaching no conclusions whatsoever.

We hereby designate the B**r Creek patio as our official culinary town square, where matters of great consequence may be debated freely, openly, and with napkins.

We encourage spirited debate.

However, as temperatures continue to fall, anyone wishing to pursue an extended disagreement should come prepared with a hat, mittens, and a scarf. And possibly long underwear.

We have fire pits and a fireplace, but we cannot guarantee they will be sufficient to warm the hearts of those whose opinions have been challenged.

Strong convictions are welcome. Throwing bones at one another is prohibited.

Ultimately, we don't know whether you'll like our wings.

And neither do you.

There's only one way to know for sure.
