"The tournament was renamed in honor of Deacon Steve Rangel, who gave many years of his life in dedicated and invaluable service to the Center and the needs of poor and homeless. He passed away last September."

"Just to give you a flavor of the work that the Good Shepherd Center does, in 2025, we provided, free of charge, the following:
approximately 102,121 meals for homeless and low-income men, women, and children;
28,820 bed nights for 1,027 unduplicated guests, including 394 bed nights for medical respite guests; 17,491 articles of clothing, toiletry kits, sleeping bags, blankets, suitcases, etc. were distributed to 3,383 people, many of whom had multiple visits. 100 men affected by addiction participated in the Good Shepherd Center Substance Abuse Recovery Program (Fresh Start Program),
54 individuals were housed through the Permanent Supportive Housing and Rapid Rehousing programs; the newest Center endeavors."
