Oh, what a night! 🎉🍻

We put out the invitation for you to come to Proper Hop Taphouse to celebrate Patrick Ellrich on his final night as owner, meet the new owners, and boy, did you show up! 🙌🏼

What a beautiful gathering as we all came together to show exactly what the Proper Hop community is all about, and why this has always been so much more than just a neighborhood bar.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate Patrick and the community he created. He was deeply touched by all the love and support.

And Jeremy (Jericho Home), thank you for all your hard work throughout the years and for treating Proper Hop as if it were your own. We’re so glad you’re staying on because this community truly values and loves you.

As for the new owners, Dave & Jeff, just know Proper Hop is in GREAT hands. They understand the culture, the importance of pouring good b**r, and most importantly, just how special this community truly is.

A chapter may have closed for Patrick, but the story of Proper Hop continues. ❤️

OK friends, if you haven’t heard, I have sold Proper Hop to two good friends of mine, Dave Heymann and Jeff Kimmel.

Dave and Jeff actually worked for me a few years back on Friday nights while they were building out their own taproom, Chamblee Tap & Market, over in Chamblee. I can’t express how excited I am for them to take over the business from me and continue to build Proper Hop.

I built Proper Hop out of nothing, using personal loans and maxing out my credit cards, and I was lucky enough to have such amazing customers come back time after time and support me. Because in the beginning, you can’t help but wonder, “Is anybody going to show up today?”

Y’all kept showing up.

You allowed me to make a living doing this for the last five years, and I’ll be forever grateful for that and for this entire experience.

I’m so excited for what the future holds for Proper Hop and for the amazing things Dave and Jeff are going to do with it. I’m also happy to announce that Jeremy will be staying on, so you’ll continue to see a familiar face behind the bar.

I hope you’ll join us this Friday so I can see y’all one last time before I head south to become Florida Man 😉

Thanks again for everything. I’ll be forever grateful for the last five years and for everyone who made Proper Hop what it is today.

After long deliberation, especially because of what Proper Hop Taphouse has meant to Patrick Ellrich , he has decided to sell the business and move to Florida next month, BUT will be leaving the business in VERY good hands!! 🙌🏼🍻

So to mark this occasion, make sure to come by Proper Hop Friday, October 2 for Patrick’s last day!! It will give him an opportunity to say THANK YOU for all your support throughout the years. And please make sure to bring your stories of what Proper Hop has meant to YOU! 🫶
