Your bathroom exhaust fan works hard behind the scenes, quietly carrying away moisture and helping prevent mold and mildew. But if the cover is looking a little fuzzy, there's a good chance the inside could use some attention, too.
A quick vacuum of the cover helps keep air flowing, but dust and lint can also build up inside the fan housing over time. That buildup makes the fan work harder, reduces its effectiveness, and can even become a fire hazard in extreme cases.
Not exactly the most glamorous item on your home maintenance checklist, but it's one of those small tasks that can make a surprisingly big difference.
And if you remove the cover and discover something that looks like it's been collecting dust since the dial-up internet era... well, we can help with that too. 😅
