On Friday the 13th of August 2004 Hurricane Charley destroyed the original Dean’s along with many other businesses and homes. The destruction was unfathomable. The community came together to support and help one another. This is the spirit of Punta Gorda. Within several weeks we posted this message and reopened in our current location with a handwritten menu of 10 items. National Guard, Salvation Army and other organizations set up camp across the street in the still vacant shopping center. People lined up for food, water, diapers and essentials. Neighbor helped neighbor. The resilience of our community is unparalleled. Here’s to Punta Gorda, a Phoenix that rose bigger and better from the rubble. Take a look at those prices!

After signing a letter of intent in July 2025,for various reasons, the deal never closed. At this time we have decided to explore options on reopening Dean's
PM for possible opportunities

Happy holidays to all our friends, neighbors, customers and especially our Dean’s employees, we miss you very much. This has been a year of big changes and uncertainty. Please know we have not forgotten you and have not deliberately kept you in the dark. We have been in limbo for 5 months and still don’t have answers. Please don’t listen to gossip. We will share information with you as soon as possible but it’s important it be accurate. Thinking back on all the wonderful celebrations we shared. We miss you all. Hold your loved ones close and happy holidays to all.
