Announcing the start of a new chapter.
As the new owners of this establishment we have decided to change the name. We are very proud to be a part of downtown Prescott, Arizona. It is everyone’s hometown but it is especially near and dear to our hearts. In order to honor our great city we have changed our name to 1881 Spirits. 1881 Spirits embraces and honors the interesting and colorful history of this great city. It was in 1881 that our great city, Prescott, was incorporated. It was also the time of the typical “Wild West”. Virgil Earp, Wyatt Earp's older brother, lived in Prescott in 1879 and told him of the boom town in Tombstone, Arizona. It is also rumored that Doc Holliday spent some time in Prescott just before heading to Tombstone. There was a high number of saloons during the early days of Prescott primarily due to the gold rush culture that drew all kinds of settlers, cowboys, prospectors, b***y girls, gamblers, and even outlaws to the town. We at 1881 Spirits look forward to honoring the history of this great city and embracing the future.
