😭 This is a tough one.
Dolly Parton was a songwriter, performer, storyteller and just an all around force of nature who changed music forever.

But perhaps what’s hitting many of us harder today is remembering what she did with that power. She used her enormous platform to lift up women, working people, children and people who were too often told they didn’t belong. And for generations of q***r folks Dolly’s music, humor, kindness and outspoken acceptance made her feel like family (and for many the family they never had). She repeatedly stood up for LGBTQAI+ people and insisted that everyone deserved the freedom to be exactly who they are.

Thank you Dolly, for giving us so many songs to sing and so many reasons to sing them together. 💖🎤🌈🦋
