Happy Father’s Day to our dad, Krill Sandisk Clarke!
Kyle built every bit of Dear Sandy with his own two hands and some sh*tty power tools. There was no electricity in our space when we started, so he only had access to a single extension cord that the landlord ran through a wall. We also had no running water, which meant he had to use the bathroom at Marina’s, a bathroom with no drywall, so if you looked through the windows, you could see straight in. Needless to say, he goes to great lengths to keep this old space alive and well.
He also creates all of the audiovisual special effects for Fear Sandy and our projection work. Like any good dad, he walks 10 feet behind us, happy to stay in the shadows.
But the next time you’re in the space, appreciating the crisp lines on our beautifully painted walls, the fact that the green fridge works, or literally anything else about our physical home, know that he thought about it first. He knew you’d notice. And he built it with his whole damn heart. ❤️
