Mark Evans and Rich Meyers brought their two-man machine, Hit Men, to Gertie’s Salon & Bar, proving two unarmed entertainers (except with an unbelievable amount of talent) can completely hijack a room.

Mark Evans serving up powerhouse vocals while Rich Meyers ran absolute rings around the keys, synth, and backup harmonies. Bringing their own spin to pop, rock, jazz, and blues classics, Hit Men had the packed room in the palm of their hands, except when those hands were clapping.

Left my voice and a little bit of my "reserve" at Gertie's Salon & Bar last night, and I regret absolutely nothing.

Once again, Marisa Corvo made the floor move a bit but, in spite of a packed house, when I left the walls were still standing. Corvo belted out powerhouse vocals while maintaining an amazing level of grace and ease and everyone in the room was delighted.

If you weren't there, you missed some incredible music, questionable dancing (mostly from me), and some very pretty (and tasty!) summer drinks. No hesitation, I rate the evening a 10/10 and can't wait for her return performance!

If you weren't at Gertie's Salon & Bar last night, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you missed out on a masterclass in musical genre-bending.

Abby Posner took the stage in front of a packed house and was immediately in complete control. One minute we were neck-deep in gritty Muddy Waters blues, and the next we were seamlessly catapulted into full-throated Indigo Girls nostalgia...and she made it look like the most natural succession on the planet.

The energy in the room was palpable. Folks joined in on familiar tunes and shoulders and feet were keeping time all over the room. The level of applause stood as proof-positive of Posner's world-class musicianship. In short, great performance! She'll be back!

Gertie’s Salon & Bar was the absolute place to be this week, serving up a back-to-back double header of top-shelf entertainment.

Wednesday Night: Leanna & Miguel Leanna and Miguel turned Wednesday into an absolute party. Between Leanna’s show-stopping vocals and Miguel’s effortless grooves, they had the entire room hooked from the very first chord. It was the kind of electric duo energy that makes you completely forget you have a 9 AM meeting the next morning.

Thursday Night: Patrice Morris Just when the hangover from Wednesday was settling in, Patrice Morris walked in on Thursday and blew the roof off the place. Soulful, magnetic, and possessing the kind of powerhouse voice that gives you instant goosebumps, Patrice turned a casual Thursday night outing into a full-blown musical event.

Great drinks, zero pretend-chill, and world-class live talent. Gertie’s officially ruined standard weeknights for the rest of us—and I’m not even mad about it.
