The MacArthur Garage Brewery started our journey toward becoming an official licensed brewery. We will be called Trautmann's Brewing & Malting. William E. Trautmann was a brewmaster and a founding member of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) and our name will honor him and all the workers of the world. More will be announced as we move through the process and We're aiming to be up and running officially by next summer. Cheers & Solidarity.

The MacArthur Garage Brewery is is an “off-the-grid” public house brewery in Oakland, CA. We are steeped in local culture, history and the fight for social justice. Our aim is provide the social lubricant to agitate the activist in all of us. Beer is primarily made of malted barley. Although you can find some local ingredients and locally made craft beer, you can’t find locally grown and malted grains to brew with. Our goal is to establish a micro-malting house in Oakland California; help end the dependence on multi-national corporate produced malt; and add an integral part of a local beer economy. We're also aiming to contract brew with a local craft brewery and possibly looking at craft distilling to make a truly local spirits and beer with local ingredients and supporting the local economy.
