🌹 9/5 Holiday Weekend Rosé tasting 🌹 

We're rounding out our Summer with the last holiday weekend of the season, and with that comes the last rosé tasting of the year! Be warned - these w**es are delightful and cheery, and they WILL make you long for neverending sunny days. Maybe if you drink enough of them that will happen, who's to say?

 We have a fun lineup of various styles and grapes, including a little known style called Piquette, made as a light and low alcohol option with added grape bits (stems and pips for some herbaceousness alongside the bright fruit), made by our friend and neighbor Megan Hughes, who lives just around the corner! Come try it, it's cool and perfect for your last few pool days, or just a sunny afternoon on the porch. So come in, bring your sunnies or a parasol (or not) and enjoy :)

I forgot to post this, so here's a rush job:
We will be pouring some barbecue w**es today, great for the grill, versatile for anything! Veg, chicken, sausages, burgers, steak, even some salmon, if it goes on a grill these will work great!

This island just two miles off of Italy's toe is one of that nation's oldest w**e growing regions and has become known over the last two decades for a w**e renaissance away from mass production of w**e to a leader in sustainability, terroir-driven viticulture, and low intervention techniques.
 
The slopes of the volcano Mount Etna have driven widespread recognition and international appreciation for the indigenous varietals of grapes it posesses, and which are grown virtually nowhere else in the world. In fact that recognition has driven so much investment from other Italian and European w**eries that there is concern that it could lose some of the individuality and authenticity it deservedly has.

Let's hope not as those volcanic, mineral rich soils are wonders and we will bring out an affordable white and red from there. We'll also open a bottle of the most widely grown grape on the island: Nero d'Avola. We've been big fans of this dark and lightly smoky (despite the stainless steel fermentation and aging) bottle from Colosi and have carried it in the shop the last 18ish years. The last bottle featured will be a more "modern" interpretation of one of Etna's pre-eminent grapes, Nerello Mascalese. 

We can't do justice to this Island with just four w**es but will enjoy trying so please join us tomorrow for a taste of Sicily!

This time it's for real!

If you saw our little hiccup last week, we had a mixup and thought Eiko was coming back with her art to display - alas, that was this week. But guess what? It's this week now! So hey, look at that, we have Eiko coming back with her art to display tomorrow during our normal time - drop in from 2-4:30pm to see her series of monoprints based on travel and whatever else she brings in. Plus you can try 4 w**es for $2 in this new thing we thought up called a "w**e tasting," I can't believe nobody else has thought of that.

I think somebody's booing me off the stage so I'll make this quick: we'll be trying a variety of "Rhone" blends, which is to say they're all made from varietals you'd see in the Rhone, and they're all French, and they're not all from the Cote Du Rhone appellation, but some are, and some are from nearby. It's very confusing so just trust us. You could call them GSM blends I guess, except for that not all of them have all of those grapes eith- you know what, come see for yourself. 2:00-4:30pm, $2, W**e Mine, thems the deets, bring your friends, see you there :3

🍾 8/8 Special Guests Saturday: Copafina W**es and Eiko Nishida art pop-up! 🍾

That's right, we're back with more fun tomorrow at our usual time, so come in between 2:00 and 4:30pm to enjoy some really cool new w**es from our buddy Patrick from Copafina! And we promised she'd be back, so stop by Eiko's corner to see some cool art with a little meet-and-greet, I believe she'll have her monoprint series inspired by travel and flight, as well as some custom printed tote bags for sale. And maybe other things! It will be a surprise to us all ;)

I'm going to let Patrick do the talking for the w**es, but it's a nearly all-new lineup of cool w**es he sells, which are featured in all kinds of good (and cool 😎) shops and restaurants, including nearby Peruvian spot Pucquio, which we were sad to see close it's doors last weekend, but which we managed to squeeze into at last minute to enjoy a SERIOUSLY good meal, Sage was chewing on every morsel of fish she could get, and we had a few of Patrick's w**es there as well 🥂
