I just had a great evening with American-born Welsh Graphic Novelist & Academy Award nominated screenwriter Daniel Clowes at the opening of his retrospective exhibit in the Oakland Museum of California. Best of all, the first artifact in the exhibit was an original panel of Lloyd Llewellyn, his Welsh retro-hipster detective.

Welsh pop music didn't end with Tom Jones. The Super Furry Animals are the best indiepop band out of Cymru, and while most of their songs are in English, the best ones are sung in Welsh. This little number has a horn section, and while not as cool as the Mariachi section that Calexico has, at least these guys are in lab coats (Rock ar fy mrodyr Cymraeg!).
