One of the most beautiful parts of community work is the people you meet along the way, people whose light fills a room, who cheer you on, who make you believe in humanity. Alberto Rangel was one of those people. His smile, his heart, his style, his whole presence was a gift. I’m grateful I got to call him a friend.
I’m devastated by this loss. We are all losing a truly special human being.
May we never forget how taxing, and often dangerous, the work of social and healthcare workers can be. They deserve care, and they deserve to be safe at work.
Rest in peace, my beautiful Alberto. You will live forever in my heart.
