The Merc Treasure Hunt
Official Guidelines
Before the first clue is released, the ground rules matter.
Please read these guidelines fully before participating. They exist to preserve the integrity of the hunt, the safety of those involved, and the story unfolding here in Newton Falls.
Before we begin, a few things matter:
• This is not a race.
• This is not a scramble.
• This is not a stunt.
Somewhere in Newton Falls, a significant treasure of cash, gold & silver coins, and jewelry worth thousands of dollars has been intentionally placed by The Merc. It will be claimed through observation, research, patience, and clues released over time.
After all clues are solved, participants will discover a key and a letter identifying where the treasure has been placed.

What This Hunt Is Not
• No digging
• No climbing
• No trespassing
• No entering water
• No damaging or moving anything
• No entering unsafe, restricted, or private property
If a clue leads you somewhere that feels risky or off-limits, you’ve misunderstood the clue.

This hunt may last a few months… or longer.
That depends entirely on attention and observation.
When the treasure is successfully claimed, The Merc will confirm it publicly.

• A short acknowledgment of the find
• Participation in a public confirmation or local press coverage
