THIS ONE’S PERSONAL.

This is Bodie—B-O-D-I-E. It’s short for Bodhisattva, but we had young kids when he came into our lives, and I figured we’d make the spelling a little easier on everybody.

I rescued Bodie in the late summer of 2020 after he had been transported to New Jersey from Texas. Down there, he had been left chained in a parking lot, where the pavement became so hot that it severely burned the pads of one of his rear feet.

Rather than amputating his entire leg, an incredible veterinarian managed to save most of his foot and remove only the badly damaged portion. Bodie still walks on all four legs. He has a little bit of a limp, but it has never stopped him from running like crazy, having fun, or living life entirely on his own terms.

He’s my best bud—and when life, work, or this business gets heavy, he’s one of the places I turn.

That’s why being invited back to Shoreline Harley-Davidson for Paws & Pistons means a little more to me than just another event.

This Saturday, rescue animals will be there hoping to find their people. The Good Life Cigar Lounge and Social Club will be there too, with the full humidor open from 11 AM–5 PM.

Come for the bikes. Meet the rescues. Enjoy the day—and maybe one of them will find their person the way Bodie found me.
