Marion Lake Club is the only golf course located on Lake James in McDowell County, North Carolina. Marion Lake Club is less than 5 miles from Interstate I-40, and is noted for its spectacular views of Linville Gorge and Shortoff Mountain. Set in rolling terrain with Bermuda fairways and excellent bent grass greens, Marion Lake Club is a challenge for all skill levels of golfer. The golf course is

a par 70, which measures 6,300 yards from the back tees. Marion Lake Club is a semi private golf course with excellent membership packages. The golf course is open year round. Let us host your next corporate or group outing. Discounts are available for groups with 20 or more players.

⛳️ That’s a Wrap on Week 1 of Golf Camp! ⛳️

What an incredible week we had at Marion Lake Club! We had so much fun teaching your kids the game of golf, good sportsmanship, and the importance of proper golf etiquette.

Congratulations to all of our award winners at today’s ceremony! While every camper worked hard and deserved recognition, we selected this week’s winners based on their outstanding improvement throughout camp.

A huge thank you goes out to our amazing Member Volunteers who coached each station, our Parent Volunteers who helped keep campers moving safely between activities, and our High School Golf Team volunteers. It has been such a privilege to watch many of these young leaders grow from campers themselves into mentors and role models for the next generation of golfers.

🍕🏊 Friday is Pool & Pizza Party Day! 🏊🍕

Campers will meet directly at the pool from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM for a fun-filled morning of swimming, pizza, and celebrating a great week of camp!

Weather permitting. Any schedule changes will be posted on Facebook, or you can call the Pro Shop for updates.

Girls and golf go hand in hand. ⛳💚

One of the things we love most about our Youth Golf Camp is watching friendships and connections grow across generations. Our young golfers, ages 7–9, are not only learning the game, but also gaining words of wisdom and encouragement from some of our incredible lady members in their 90s.

These remarkable women have spent a lifetime on and around the golf course, and their love for the game continues to inspire the next generation. Our youth girls’ team certainly has some big shoes to fill, but with role models like these, they’re off to a great start.

The future of girls’ golf at Marion Lake Club is looking bright! ☀️🏌️‍♀️💚🏆

Week 1, Day 1 of Golf Camp was a huge success! ⛳️

The kids had an absolute blast, the weather was beautiful, and we were surrounded by the best people. Our amazing coaches did a fantastic job, our student golf team leaders were outstanding role models, and our incredible parent group leaders kept everyone safe and moving in the right direction.

We know there are a lot of pictures, but we just couldn’t resist capturing so many moments of these kids learning and playing the best game on earth! Thank you to everyone who helped make today so special—we can’t wait for the rest of the week! 💚🏌️‍♀️🏌️‍♂️📸

🏆 2026 Member-Guest Tournament Recap 🏆

This year’s Member-Guest Tournament was truly one to remember! We had a terrific turnout, with our members proudly showcasing our outstanding golf course to their guests. Combined with beautiful weather all weekend, every day was a great day for golf.

Congratulations to our 2026 Overall Lowest Score from Blake Silver and his guest, Matt McFalls, for taking home the top prize! Also a huge shout out to Chase Holland and his guest Steve Jetter for being the Campion A flight winners!⛳

Saturday evening featured a fantastic dinner and party, providing the perfect opportunity for everyone to relax and celebrate another successful tournament.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who helped make the weekend such a success. Our staff worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all players—thank you to every crew member for your hard work and dedication.

Special thanks to DJ Doonie for keeping the energy high with great entertainment, and to Countryside BBQ for serving a delicious dinner that was enjoyed by all.

Finally, a huge thank you to ** Foothills Construction & Restoration⁠** and East Court Premier Barber for serving as this year’s tournament sponsors. The tournament t-shirts were a huge hit and greatly appreciated by everyone.

Member-Guest Weekend Events 2026

We are excited for everything happening over the next few days at Marion Lake Club! Please review the schedule and event details below so the weekend runs smoothly for everyone.

Tournament Check-In
* We kindly ask all players to pre-pay for the tournament whenever possible.
* This helps the Pro Shop get everyone checked in quickly and keeps the mornings running efficiently.

Friday – Calcutta

The Men’s Association will be hosting the Calcutta at the Boat Docks. Get in on the fun!

* Hamburgers, hot dogs will be grilled hot, and beer will be served cold.

With 84 teams competing this year, it is important that we stay on schedule and respect everyone’s time.

Important Reminders
* Arrive at least 30 minutes before your tee time.
* No clubs or golf bags inside the Pro Shop Building.
* Tee gifts and rules sheets will be distributed at the starter box when your team is called to tee off.
* Please be ready and waiting when the starters call your team.

Lunch

Lunch will be provided for players at Slices Bistro.

* Green tournament bracelet required for alcohol service.

* One trip through the buffet line only.
* With tee times extending well into the afternoon, we must ensure all players are served.

DJ Doonie will be rocking the night away with great music, so bring your dancing shoes!
