Now that the dust has settled and I've had time to breathe, I wanted to take a minute to say some thank yous.
First and foremost, thank you to you - all of you who have supported us for the last 23 years. We have met so many incredible people, some local and some from as far away as Australia. But, every single one (well, almost every single one ;) ) has been appreciated.
We'd also like to thank our staff. From Fancy Nancy and Miss Peggy, the bartenders who were there when I first started at the Delmar, to our Final Fab Four - Brittany, Rick, Juanita and Paige , and everyone in between, we have had some great bartenders. It's not the building that makes a bar what it is, it's the people inside, and our staff always did their best to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome. We appreciated that enormously.
Thank you to all the musicians who have brought great live music to our establishment. We've had a great run of excellent music and it has been a strong part of what the Delmar has been known for.
Thank you to Shane at North Country Vending for taking such good care of our pool table. And to the Hardy Boys (lol) for doing the same before Shane took over. That table is in use almost every hour the bar is open, and we have long been told it's one of the best tables around.
Thank you to all our vendors for always taking good care of us. We have been grateful to have such great salespeople and office contacts.
And a special thank you to the "Delmar crew". The people who help put together our fundraisers, who celebrate their birthdays with us, who celebrate the lives of the people we've lost, who always have our backs, and the backs of our staff. We hope you know how much we appreciate each and every one of you.
I've purposely tried to avoid names, as I would be sure to forget someone and would be riddled with guilt when I did. But, you all know who you are. :)
The Delmar and all of you have been an important part of our lives. We will miss it and you. Now we look ahead to retirement.
We hope to keep in touch and look forward to seeing you on our visits home.
