🩺Thanks to Dr. Debbi Juster and Dr. Michele Hamilton for a very informative and entertaining WSA SMB presentation on Emergencies at Sea. Lots of great takeaways and some new things I learned: 1.) 🚢Coast Guard always has a doctor on call (channel 16), 2.) 🧴Coppertone Baby SPF 50 is the best sunscreen on the market, and 3.) 🏥it’s time for a CPR refresher class.

Preparing for emergencies at sea and keeping your crew safe is essential for a successful passage. Del Rey YC is offering US Sailing’s International Offshore Safety at Sea seminar on Nov 7-8. In addition to a heated pool for the life raft and PFD sessions, this seminar will be taught by highly experienced offshore sailors and moderated by Capt. Leslie Washburn and Capt. James Lee for a fun and educational program.
