Two years ago this week, the world lost someone who meant so much to so many. A mentor and father figure. A grandpa. A dad. A husband. A Son. A friend to everyone he met.
Four years ago, the world lost another bright light. A father. A son. A friend. A brother. Someone who left a hole that can never quite be filled.
These two men were very different people, but there is one thing we know without a doubt about both of them: if someone needed help, they would have been there. ❤️
So, for the rest of September, that’s what we want to do in their honor. Be there.
In our Spur Bar, we have created a memory board for those we wish were still here. If you have lost someone you love, please bring us a picture and add them to our wall. The clips are there, waiting for their faces, their stories, and their memories. Or, email us a photo at [email protected] and we would be honored to print it and add it for you. This space isn’t just for the people we have lost…it’s for everyone who still carries them in their heart.
You’ll also find a basket filled with letters written by members of our staff. Letters to a stranger who may need to hear that they matter. Please read them. And if one touches your heart, speaks to something you’re going through, or simply feels like it was written for you…take it with you. It’s yours.
And if you’re struggling, please know this:
If you need a hug, we are here.
If you need someone to sit with you, we are here. If you need a friend to listen, we are here.
You are not alone.
September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, but caring for one another shouldn’t end when September does.
You are loved. You are needed. You matter.
The world is a better place with you in it. 💜🩵
