Fall does something to this course that the other seasons cannot quite replicate.

The light sits lower and warmer across the fairways. The timber that frames every hole turns in a way that makes you stop mid-round and just look. The air is cooler, and the pace of a fall round at Running Y has a quality to it that is hard to put into words and easy to feel from the first tee.

Oregon's only Arnold Palmer Signature Course deserves more than a day trip.

Palmer's Stay and Play gives the golf trip you need. A two to three night stay with one round of golf per person up to 2 people, a same-day replay option for $55, and accommodations ranging from lodge rooms at $330 per night to three-bedroom vacation homes for larger groups. Tee times are reserved separately through the pro shop, so call ahead once your stay is booked and you are all set.

That is the thing about the Ruddy Duck. It does not take much to satisfy everyone at the table. Just good food, a warm room, and enough on the menu that nobody has to compromise.
