Actually here’s the story…….
We made our first batch back in 2003. For the first 10 years, we only made about 100 shirts a year.
Then we’d get pictures from friends, customers, and bands wearing them all over the world. So as a joke, we started calling ourselves “WORLD FAMOUS.”
For the next 12 years, we pretty much stopped making them consistently. Sometimes we’d go YEARS without printing a single shirt.
Not because we were trying to be cool. Not because we were creating some exclusive, limited edition, new drop, members only, share this and tag a friend, fashion brand.
We were just BUSY throwing punk rock shows, putting on festivals, and slingin drinks at the saloon. We are bartenders. Making merch is annoying!
But over the years, our loyal customers moved away. Their old Johnny’s shirts faded, fell apart, or disappeared. The kids of customers who used to drink here are now turning 21. Which is fn weird & makes us feel old. And the one consistent over time keeps happening - people walk in and say “I’ve lived close by my entire life and never knew you were here”.
So we’re trying to make our shirts more consistently this year, our 23rd year open. Which unfortunately means annoying everyone with advertisements about T-shirts.
Here’s the deal:
We want everyone who wants one of these shirts to get one. So please share this with anyone who might want one. Especially those who moved away years ago.
Because we’d really like this to be our last merch sale for a while. Super serious. And not serious like when you tell the bartender “I’ll just have one more” when you know you’re gonna have more.
We have more important things to worry about. Like figuring out how to make a Pumpkin Spice Espresso Pumpkin Riot cocktail and tryin to not run out of wh***ey.
