If you're old like me, you may remember the early days of "craft cocktails," when information and recipes came from reading borrowed copies of old cocktail books from the '20s and/or sitting at one of the very few bars that were slowly reviving the craft. In this world of darkness, blog was like a lighthouse, sharing cocktail knowledge from Portland with the unwashed masses across the country. From impassioned defenses of the Amaretto Sour to info on barrel-aging cocktails to explaining Brix so that our frozens would freeze, it was THE PLACE to go for modern cocktail info. He has continued to share his knowledge with the rest of us through his books, his lectures, and his website, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome the legend himself to Johnny's.
