Founded in 2009, we started as the brainchild of three engineers living in Holland, Michigan. Two of us were devoted home brewers for years, working in a garage with a Sabco Brewmagic and perfecting our recipes. That half barrel system eventually turned into a three barrel system in a 3000 square foot pub with sixty seats. With an emphasis on quality ingredients, consistent recipes, and a passion

for quality control, our three barrel system soon turned into a seven barrel system with a small canning line. Within three years of opening the pub, demand grew and we opened a production facility with a fifteen barrel brewhouse. A year later we moved out of the 3000 square foot pub into a 7000 square foot brewery with a full kitchen. Growth hasn’t come easy for us, but with a foundation built around quality, consistency, and a passion for good beer, Big Lake Brewing has grown more than we could have imagined and we’re excited to see what the future holds.

We are excited to announce our summer partnership with the Outdoor Discovery Center. The ODC Network is a nonprofit advancing outdoor education and conservation in West Michigan. Since 2000, ODC has protected thousands of acres of natural land and connected over 1.5 million people to nature through outdoor learning, hands-on programs, and access to trails and preserves.

We created two beverages to celebrate this partnership. Project Clarity, a Strawberry Cerveza, is brewed in celebration of their community-wide partnership committed to improving the health and clarity of Lake Macatawa and the Macatawa Watershed. Thrive Sparkling Water is a non-alcoholic drink made with cherry lime electrolytes. It’s refreshing and perfect for any summer adventure. The best part is a portion of the proceeds from these beverages will be donated directly back to the ODC Network. This is a pub-only release that is only available in cans while supplies last so make sure to grab a 4-pack while you can!

Kick off the start of summer on the Big Lake patio! ☀️ Join us for our Summer Solstice Patio Party on Saturday June 20 from 3-9pm. We’ll be releasing two seasonal beers: Mango Habanero Haze (You heard that right, it’s back!) & Painkiller IPA, our award winning IPA inspired by the well-known cocktail 🍹

There will also be live entertainment from DJ Rhabdo from 3-9pm. He was a blast during Tulip Time and we cannot wait to have him back on our patio. This is a party you won’t want to miss! 🎶
