Introducing our amazing wine club line up for the month of March!
🍷Tiki North Canterbury Pinot Gris 2024 from North Canterbury, New Zealand &
🍷Ernest Catena Siesta el Tahuantinsuyu Malbec 2018 from Mendoza, Argentina

Tiki Wine & Vineyards is based in the famed winemaking region, the Waipara Valley, part of the North Canterbury wine region of New Zealand. It’s a whānau-owned (family-owned) winery founded by Royce and Sue McKean, and it’s deeply rooted in Māori heritage—named in honor of Chief Tiki Tere Mihi, Royce’s great-great-great-grandfather. New Zealand’s versions are closer to the Alsatian style, richer fruit, greater complexity, and with hints of a certain waxiness, for lack of a better descriptor - trust me, it’s quite pleasant.

Floral and peach-driven with tropical fruit and saline lift, the palate is bright and spicy with firm acidity and excellent versatility.

Siesta el Tahuantinsuyu Malbec founded by Ernesto Catena, a fourth-generation winemaker of Italian descent, Siesta was inspired by ancient Incan traditions. The Inca would often bury offerings to the land so that it would remain healthy and fertile. Following this ancient tradition, every year Ernesto Catena’s team buries a few bottles of their best wines in the Vistaflores vineyard, hoping that while sleeping their endless “Siesta, these bottles will protect the vines, people, and harvest. Intense, complex, and elegant, Siesta wines aim to express the varietal personality, which is enhanced by the unique characteristics of the Vista flores terroir.

This is a refined Argentine Malbec with ripe dark fruit, floral lift, and subtle spice supported by a smooth, balanced structure. Notes of black plum, blackberry, violet, cocoa, spice. Enjoyed for its elegance and sense of place, delivering depth without heaviness.

Enjoy & Cheers!!🍷

Introducing our other 2 Feb wine club pics!

Vicara ‘Domino’ Spumante Brut Rosé🍷 &

Rottensteiner Schiava 2024🍷

Vicara ‘Domino’ Spumante Brut Rosé
80% Grignolino, 20% Chardonnay
Piedmont, Italy

The label of our Domino features a cartoon by Pulitzer Prize winner Rube Goldberg, depicting a convoluted domino effect culminating in a popped bottle. The illustration ironically describes the heterogeneity, the intricate mechanism, and the creativity behind the creation of each wine. But “domino effect” also has another meaning: once you open a bottle, you can’t help but open another. How did we get permission to use the cartoon? Giuseppe met the author’s granddaughter and went to knock on the door of her house in New York. She agreed on the condition that we send her 10 boxes of Dominoes once a year!

Presents itself with a delicate pink color, tending towards orange. On the nose, it expresses a fine and delicate bouquet, with pleasant floral and fruity notes. On the palate, bright raspberry and strawberry fruit. Very fresh and crisp wine with a spicy finish.

Rottensteiner Schiava 2024
Schiava
Alto Adige, Italy

The family is one of the oldest wine-growing families in South Tyrol. For over 50 years they have been continuing on the dream of their grandfather, Hans, in producing their own wine. Founded in 1956,

Hans’ focus was selling open wines from the winery to Switzerland. In the 1980’s, his son Toni changed over to marketing bottled wines, and since 2001 he has been supported by his grandson Hannes. Not only have the grapes from the family’s 10 hectares been processed from the onset, but also that of 50 regional grape growers as well. This close cooperation has extended for generations and is essentially responsible for the excellent quality of the wines. The Schiava is one of the best known wines of South.
This is a light, crisp dry red with rose candy notes and a gentle smokiness on the finish.
