This year, we introduced a new logo inspired by one of Chestnut Valley’s most recognizable landmarks—our Golf Bears.

Many of you have teed off beside this sculpture, stopped to take a photo with it, or even asked to play the back nine just to share it with your guests. It has become a favorite spot and a symbol of our course.

The story behind the bears is also the story of Chestnut Valley itself. When the course was founded in 1994, it was designed by the late Larry Mancour and named for a magnificent chestnut tree that overlooked the valley along the 11th fairway. The tree stood as a defining feature of our rolling landscape and inspired the name that has represented our course ever since.

Over time, the chestnut tree succumbed to natural causes. Rather than removing it completely, we chose to preserve its legacy. A talented chainsaw artist Keith Youngs transformed the trunk into the bear sculpture that now welcomes golfers and serves as a lasting tribute to the history and spirit of Chestnut Valley.
As we unveil our new logo, we’re proud to honor not only a symbol of Chestnut, but also the story, tradition, and natural beauty that have made Chestnut Valley a special place for more than 30 years.

The next time you’re out on the course, stop by the bears, snap a photo, and take in a piece of Chestnut Valley history. What do you think about the new logo? 🧸⛳️
