September is National Su***de Prevention Month, and active-duty military, military veterans, and first responders face serious, well-documented mental health risks. Last year, Butler County lost 12 veterans to su***de. And research shows elevated su***de risk among firefighters, with consistently high rates of PTSD, depression, and suicidal thoughts across EMS and fire.
