After six weeks of reviewing project information, asking questions and evaluating potential paths forward, the West Greeley Citizen Oversight Committee has reached its first formal recommendation to City Council.

The committee recommends that the City continue pursuing a financing partner capable of securing interest rates equal to or better than those originally projected for the project. The committee also recommended pausing its work until a potential partner is identified and more detailed information is available, including proposed financing terms, updated project costs, economic development projections and other key financial considerations.

Committee members indicated that additional discussion would be most productive once this information is available and can be evaluated as part of a complete recommendation package.

The committee's recommendation was presented to City Council for consideration at this evening's session. If a financing partner is identified, the committee would reconvene to review the information, provide feedback and continue its evaluation of potential paths forward.

Throughout the process, the committee has emphasized transparency, public engagement and careful review of the facts before making recommendations about the future of the project.

GBJ 2026 is over, we hope everyone who attended had as good a time as we did!!! A great show with 95 degree weather, yep it was hot! We changed up a little and gave folks the Event Center next to the Main Stage, so the Colorado stage was actually inside with some 60 degree AC going on to cool folks off between mainstage acts. They could go in and get cool to listen to the Rob Wilson Blues Band, Bobby C and the OGs, The Buzz Brothers and the Ben Pu Band for their sets, and then back outside for the main stage with the Delta Sonics, The Blues Beatles, Tommy Castro and the Painkillers, The Danielle Nicole Band, and The Robert Randolph Band! Spectacular in every way! All the acts were terrific, Robert Randolph poured out the best blues set Ive ever seen from him and even had our own Erica Brown performing with him!!! Incredible!!!!

Today is the day! Beautiful weather in a beautiful park with an endless supply of amazing blues! Hope to see you there! The gates will open at 11AM and we still have tickets for sale. See you soon for the kickoff of a blues music summer!

Our dedicated Staff is working their butts off all over- setting things up at Island Grove for the Festival and the campgrounds and downtown setting up the FREE Friday Night Prefest for todays shows! We have 19 Blues Acts today for FREE on the 9th St Plaza! Tomorrow, your Festival ticket gets you into 9 blues acts all day long at Island Grove! Get ready for a wild blues weekend!
