Growing Sagrantino is never a casual affair. As Rob Theakston points out in his feature on the varietal, this notoriously bold, tannic grape from Umbria demands patience and grit - making it an exciting challenge to tame right here in the Texas High Plains.

Our 2018 Sagrantino Reserva captures that exact determination and pioneering spirit. It’s a striking, serious red driven by savory notes of tomato leaf and dried herbs that lead into a rich core of dark cherry and wild berry, with subtle black pepper and fennel adding a rustic, structured depth.

Curious to see how our estate releases stack up against the variety's old-world roots? Read the full review, then add a bottle to your collection online or at any of our Tasting Rooms today!
