❗SHELTER UPDATE: The shelter at Sedona Red Rock High School has been moved to Camp Verde Town Gym, 51 E Hollamon Street, and is open through 8 a.m. tomorrow. The shelter at Sinagua Middle School, 3950 E. Butler Ave., remains open.

The shelters support residents and visitors displaced by the flooding in Flagstaff and throughout Coconino County. Shelter services include meals, snacks, water, health support and information about additional resources for individuals and families who need a safe place to stay.

Your safety is my, and the City of Flagstaff’s, top priority. Please avoid travel if possible and check in on your neighbors.

1. Flagstaff’s emergency response crews are operating at capacity. Please keep your safety and that of your neighbors in mind and avoid travel if possible.

2. Coconino County has activated a Call Center for flooding until 8 p.m. If you have questions about evacuation status, sandbag locations and road conditions please call 928-679-8525.

3. Always call 911 for emergencies. Sign up for emergency alerts at coconino.az.gov/Ready.

4. Stay alert and follow the US National Weather Service Flagstaff Arizona for updates.

Self-fill sandbags available in Thorpe Park at the parking lot at the north end of N. Aztec St. between Frances Short Pond and the softball fields

***5PM Update - The City is working to restock supplies - additional sandbag materials are on the way. If you’re headed to the park to make sandbags for your property, please consider filling a few extra bags for those who may need assistance. Likewise, if you live in the vicinity of Thorpe Park and can safely get there, help filling sandbags for those in need of them would be appreciated. As this is a self-fill sandbag station, please bring a shovel.

Flagstaff City Government: Numerous Road Closures in Flagstaff; Avoid Travel

Flagstaff residents and visitors are advised to avoid travel due to numerous road closures caused by flooding. Current road closures are widespread and include portions of S Milton Rd, Route 66, Butler Ave, E Huntington Dr and S Lone Tree Rd.

Emergency response crews are operating at capacity. To help keep resources available for emergencies and for your safety, please avoid travel.

Mountain Line

6pm: Route 5 will start running again, but won’t be on schedule due to detours.

5:35pm: Routes 2 and 66 running. Expect delays.

3:00pm: All routes have halted and Flagstaff PD has advised that road closures due to flooding will be in place for an undetermined amount of time.

Flagstaff Shelter Services, Inc

The Flagstaff Shelter Services is running an overflow shelter and will provide transportation from the 4185 E. Huntington Dr location. 928-225-2533

American Red Cross

American Red Cross has teams en route to open a shelter in Flagstaff and begin supporting residents impacted by the current flooding situation.

An Imminent Threat Alert, Tornado Warning, has been issued for the West Flagstaff area. The alert is in effect until 9:45 a.m. Residents are asked to take shelter in a basement or interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the nearest shelter to protect yourself from flying debris.

Good pub food, a cold pint, maybe a little wh***ey if the day calls for it, and nowhere else you really need to be for a while.
