It is with heavy hearts that we announce we are closing our doors at Smokey Oaks Tavern. To everyone who has supported Smokey Oaks over the last 10 years, and especially those who rallied behind us these last few months—thank you.
We worked incredibly hard to breathe new life into this space, and your appreciation meant the world to us. Unfortunately, after trying to hold the building owners accountable for necessary repairs, they chose to let our lease expire and hit us with a 70% rent increase. We knew this would be an uphill climb, but a hike like that just isn’t feasible.
Thank you to our amazing staff who welcomed the changes, and to our loyal guests who made this the hardest decision we’ve ever had to make.
This isn’t goodbye. It’s just “until next time.” Moving forward, our new venture is Live Fire & Smoke! We are taking our craft BBQ on the road with pop-ups, events, and soon, a brand-new venue.

To our incredible community,
With heavy hearts and a deep love for this neighborhood, we want to say a massive thank you from the team at Smokey Oaks Tavern. Thank you to everyone who has come out and supported Smokey Oaks Tavern over the past ten years, and especially to those who have rallied behind us over these last few months.
We poured our hearts into making this work. The community response was amazing, and we are so grateful that you recognized the dedication our team put into bringing Smokey Oaks Tavern back to where it was—and working to make it even better.
Unfortunately, doing the right thing isn't always easy. We tried tirelessly to hold the building owners accountable for necessary repairs that were not the tenant's responsibility. In response, they allowed the existing lease to expire and proposed a 70% rent increase. We knew taking on a business that needed help would be an uphill climb, but a jump that steep simply isn’t feasible for us to continue operating in this space.
We want to extend a huge thank you to all the staff who welcomed us with open arms and embraced our vision. And to all of our amazing guests—your support has made this one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever had to make.
But please know, this isn’t goodbye; it’s just "until next time." What we have been building is absolutely amazing, and we are not stopping here.
Going forward, our next venture will officially be Live Fire & Smoke. We will be hosting pop-ups, catering events, and soon, opening a brand-new venue to bring you the craft BBQ you love. Please follow our journey to see what's coming next!
