The Lark & Weaver

The Lark & Weaver As of now I work full time and will be putting all of my savings into this goal, a good starting amount but probably only enough to cover the bare minimum.

At the Lark & Weaver, the goal is to have a plenty of food and drink options, including a wide variety of beer (from affordable to a little pricey), wine, mead, and tavern foods that fit with our themes of medieval fantasy. And for those of you who are just looking to have a good alcohol-free time we'll have coffees and a rotating menu of delicious themed mocktails, inspired by movies and video ga

mes. I'm hoping to gain additional funds through investors, loans, and applying for grants, but funding from Kickstarter would be key in helping The Lark & Weaver get off the ground. We've estimated our starting costs to be roughly $50k -
Permits & Licenses - $4k
Renovations/Decor - $20k (depending on the success of crowdfunding this could be lower or higher)
Startup Inventory - $5k
Fixed Assets - $15k
Insurance - $5632/year

Of course there are always unforeseen problems that crop up with projects like this, and I'm hoping that any funding I'm able to secure through Kickstarter can go towards solving those problems. The last thing I want is for The Lark & Weaver Tavern to make it 75% of the way and then get stopped dead in its tracks.

A huge thank you to all that donated to our kickstarter and showed your support!
Unfortunately the kickstarter was unsuccessful in hitting its goal, and without those extra funds (and due to a few other setbacks that happened this year), The Lark & Weaver Tavern will take longer to open than anticipated.
However, the silver lining is that I now have plenty more time to gain some much needed experience in the bar/restaurant industry, add more funds to the reserve, and perfect my food/drink recipes!

***Hey all!***
I think there’s an elephant in the room that needs to be addressed!

I am aware that a number of years ago there was a Kickstarter for a similar project in Sacramento, and that, although they were very successful on Kickstarter, the whole thing fell through and really disappointed a lot of people.

I want to make it clear to everyone that we are NOT affiliated with that project.

I believe that ultimately they had the best of intentions, but from the bit of research I’ve done it’s my opinion that they aimed waaay too high for their first foray into this type of field.

If I’m fortunate enough to have a successful kickstarter I have no intention of take everyone’s money and failing - a tavern WILL open, even if has to start small and grow into the kind of place I want it to be.
