100 YEARS OF HOUDINI.

A LEGACY THAT WILL NEVER ESCAPE US.

October 31, 1926 – October 31, 2026

One hundred years ago today, on Halloween night, the world lost one of its greatest entertainers and masters of mystery.

Harry Houdini.

A man who challenged the impossible and changed the world of magic forever.

But here in Erie, Pennsylvania, his story has a special connection.

Harry Kellar, the Dean of American Magicians, was Houdini’s mentor, inspiration, and dear friend.

In 1917, when Kellar came out of retirement for his final performance at New York’s Hippodrome, Houdini helped orchestrate his farewell. As fellow magicians carried Kellar from the stage in a sedan chair, a 125-piece orchestra played Auld Lang Syne.

One generation honoring another. A moment in magic history that will never be forgotten.

Today, at KELLAR’S MAGIC & COMEDY CLUB, we honor both men by dimming our lights and closing our doors for a Day of Silence.

No performances. No applause. No spectacle.

Just a moment to remember the pioneers who gave their lives to the art of wonder.

A hundred years later, Houdini’s legacy lives on. And so does the magic.

Rest in peace, Harry Houdini.
