As the President of the Chippewa Valley Blues Society, I thank each and every one of you that came down to Owen Park to support and enjoy live Blues music and the community spirit that makes Eau Claire such a great place to live! 😎
Tuesday Night Blues 🎸 continues to function because of the Chippewa Valley community. WE DO NOT PAY THE BAND DIRECTLY FROM DONATIONS THAT NIGHT. All bands agree to a contracted amount before scheduling. That being said, bucket donations from Tuesday nights are our largest source of income. Your generosity has allowed us to ensure we can pay the musicians a living wage. Because that's how we do it here in the Chippewa Valley.
Without volunteers on Tuesday nights, the CVBS would not have sponsors to support us, merchandise to sell, a booth to sell it at, water and ice for the bands, power for vendors, signage, Bluesletters, donation collectors, etc. We would not be able to host the great event that we do without the folks that show up every Tuesday night, all summer long! Thank you all! 🌞
Thank you to the bands that performed this season! We especially wish to thank the bands that have been back year after year. We know that performing in the bandshell at Owen Park can have its challenges and we appreciate your willingness to return!
Next up will be our annual meeting sometime in October or November. We are planning to host a benefit concert (location TBA) for our entrants, The Tommy Bentz Band and Eddie Beavers, in the International Blues Challenge held in Memphis in January.
