As we celebrate Labor Day, we honor the American spirit that built this nation—its workers, its dreamers, and the men and women whose determination and grit have strengthened our country for generations. From factory floors to farm fields, from small businesses to public service, the American worker has always stood at the heart of our national greatness.
Labor Day also reminds us of the values we cherish at Post 9: service, dedication, and pride in community. The volunteers and members who give their time and talent embody the same commitment that has long defined the American workforce.
On this Labor Day, we salute all who labor to keep our nation strong and all who continue to uphold the ideals that make America exceptional.

25th Anniversary of September 11, 2001

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, a day that forever changed our nation. We remember the 2,983 lives lost, honor the courage of first responders, and reflect on the unity that carried Americans forward in the aftermath.
At the National September 11 Memorial in New York City, families will once again gather for the reading of names and moments of silence marking the events of that morning. The annual Tribute in Light will illuminate the sky, symbolizing resilience and remembrance.
A quarter century later, we reaffirm the promise that has guided every commemoration since 2001: Never Forget.

Beautiful day for Hogs & Dogs, treating the residence to hotdogs, beverages, and ice cream. Thanks to the our American Legion Riders and SAL for hosting this event. Thanks to all the other chapters, members and local sponsors that came out to support and help bring the residence out and provided the refreshments. 🇺🇸

I’m inviting veterans from across the 138th Legislative District to join me for a Veterans Appreciation Breakfast and Mini Expo on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 8-10 a.m. at the Plainfield Township Volunteer Fire Company Social Hall.

The free breakfast is open to area veterans, active-duty military members and military spouses. Each veteran may bring one registered guest. Registration is required for both the veteran and guest.
